Wildflower Cascade

Intimate cascades tumble from the snowmelt down through the Indian Peaks Wilderness. This photo was the Scenic Photo of the Day at Bestfoto on July 31, 2003 and at Shutterbugs on July 24th.

Blue Lake

Could it be another Indian Peaks wonder? After a tough hike with a heavy backpack, tripod and two cameras, Blue Lake made it all worthwhile. This image was the Scenic Photo of the Day at Shutterbugs on July 30, 2003.

There's Nothing Like a Baby

Mountain goats roam the Mt. Evans Wilderness in summer. This little one was the Photo of the Day in the Animals Category at Shutterbugs on July 27, 2003.

Alpine View With Wildflowers

The yellow of alpine aven and the white of American bistort decorate the slopes of Mt. Evans. These wildflowers were the Photo of the Day in the Scenic Category at Shutterbugs on July 17, 2003.

Evening Doe

A herd of muledeer range through our own neighborhood year-round. The image of this doe was the Animal Photo of the Day at Shutterbugs on July 13, 2003.

Cactus Flowers In Pink

Cushion cactus put on a show on the plains of eastern Colorado in early summer. The photo was a Finalist in the contest at d-store.

Pawnee Buttes

In the Pawnee National Grassland, these amazing buttes rise out of the prairie. This image was a Finalist in the Betterphoto June 2003 contest as well as the Photo of the Day at Shutterbugs on June 25th.

Elk View

Rocky Mountain National Park has a large population of elk that graze in the meadows. This image was the Photo of the Day at Bestfoto on June 28, 2003.

Shrouded Hallett Peak

High winds blow the snow as clouds conspire to cover this rugged peak in Rocky Mountain National Park. The image was the Black and White Photo of the Day at Shutterbugs.

Tundra Coyote

High on Trail Ridge Road, a healthy coyote with a thick winter fur hunts for marmot and pika. It earned triple honrs as the Animals Photo of the Day at Bestfoto on June 6, 2003, as well as at Shutterbugs on May 30th, and at d-store as a finalist for their Week 6 Contest.

Backlit

Lush spring grasses provide a backdrop for a red fox. The image was the Animals Photo of the Day at Shutterbugs on May 22, 2003.

Fox Vixen Grooming Her Kit

Always the excellent parent, this red fox provided and cared for her litter of young. The photo won honors in the Animals category at Shutterbugs on May 14, 2003.

Father Simeon

As we were departing Denver International Airport, this kindly monk caught my eye. He agreed to pose for a portrait, sidelit by the terminal lights. His image was the People Photo of the Day at Shutterbugs on April 16, 2003 and was a Finalist at Betterphoto for April as well.

Snowy Snout

A curious mule had been grazing in the snow. He was a finalist at Betterphoto for March, 2003.

Snowed In

The storm of the century dropped about 4 feet in our area. We snowshoed down to th park and on the way saw this home with a blocked front entrance. The photo was a Week 6 Finalist in the d-contest contest.

Cunning

Slipping past us on a snowy path, a red fox gives a wily look. His image was the Animals Photo of the Day at Bestfoto for April 6, 2003.
