Bohemian Waxwing

A friend e-mailed and said a flock of waxwings were out at Chatfield State Park, so I dropped everything and ran out there. This handsome bird was the Animals Photo of the Day at Photoshowdown on December 18, 2004.

Bighorns Arranged

Sometimes animals just know how to arrange themselves, almost as if they have consideration for the artist. These bighorn sheep rams became a Betterphoto Finalist and later a 2nd place winner in their December contest.

Funny You Should Mention That

This bighorn sheep ewe seemed like she was saying that with a funny tilt to her head. The image was the Animals Photo of the Day at Shutterbugs on December 6, 2004.

Toe-Sucker

An orphaned young grizzly entertained us at the Denver Zoo. His photo was the Photoshowdown Animals Photo of the Day on November 30, 2004.

Two female bighorn sheep formed a double greeting committee for me atop a mountain. This photo was the Sony Imagestation Photo of the Day on November 12, 2004 and at Photoshowdown on November 26.

A bighorn sheep ram looked absolutely golden in early light. He took the Animals Photo of the Day at Bestfoto on November 8, 2004.

Reflections on Taylor Reservoir

The sky and fall grasses highlighted this view, which was the Scenic Photo of the Day at Photoshowdown on November 3, 2004 and then a Finalist in the November contest there.

West Elk Wilderness

I decided to take a detour into this area, and was sure glad when I saw the layers of sagebrush, aspen, mountains, and sky. This became the Scenic Photo of the Day at Photoshowdown on October 22, 2004 and later became a finalist in their October contest.

Mt. Sneffels

A 14,155 foot peak in the San Juan Range. I have long admired this mountain. The image became the Scenic Photo of the Day at Photoshowdown on August 25, 2004 and was a Finalist at Betterphoto for October, 2004.

Glistening With Dew

It had rained heavily the night before, so this bull got his rack covered with drops from the grasses in Rocky Mountain National Park. The photo took the Animals Photo of the Day honors at Photoshowdown on October 17, 2004.

Chasm Falls

I like to stop off at this waterfall whenever I go up Fall River Road in Rocky Mountain National Park. The falls became aBlack and White Finalist at Betterphoto for the month of September, 2004.

Bald Eagle in Fall

This is an injured bird at a raptor rehab facility. She is a full adult, 9-year-old bald eagle. The bird was the Animals Photo of the Day at Photoshowdown on October 23, 2004 and later was a Finalist in their October contest.

Blue Sky Eagle

The same bird as in the above photo, this bald eagle looked regal against the high-altitude sky. The image became the Animals Photo of the Day at Photoshowdown on October 16, 2004 and at Bestfoto on October 12.

This scenic pass near Ridgway has hot spots of color every fall. The photo took the Scenic honors at Photoshowdown on October 15, 2004 and at Bestfoto on October 7.
